The explicit content is then sold or broadcast to paying viewers, both locally and internationally.
Cybersex Trafficking: Often involving victims who are coerced into performing sexual acts on camera, cybersex trafficking is a form of human trafficking facilitated through live-streamed video. The demand is typically driven by foreign clients, with victims, including children, subjected to repeated exploitation.
Sextortion: In this type, perpetrators blackmail victims, threatening to release intimate images or videos unless more explicit content, money, or other demands are met. This form of abuse can have devastating psychological effects and is common across various digital platforms.
Online Grooming: Predators target minors on social media, games, or messaging apps, building trust with them to gain personal information or coerce them into sharing explicit material. This manipulation can lead to ongoing exploitation, making children especially vulnerable.
